| William E. Danhauer Sr. opened the store in 1904 at the corner of 4th and Frederica streets in Owensboro. At the age of 47, he married and fathered six sons. Many years later, he was joined by his sons James and William Jr. (Bill) who took over as partners after his death. Bill's son Jeff joined the family business in 1981, taking over for James. Bill and Jeff continue to run the store today
